MoTeC M170 ECU
Advances in technology have increased the demands on a vehicle’s components, especially the ECU. This demand has reached the point where a single firmware to ECU configuration cannot meet the market’s ECU requirements (even with increased capacity and processor speed).
The M1 series was conceived by MoTeC to overcome this one-to-one, firmware to ECU limitation, by designing a system where operational efficiency, advanced features and flexibility are its primary objectives. At its core, M1 provides the ability to develop a suite of flexible and tailored firmware solutions, making it ideal for any application (however complex) and category management.

- Unlike previous generation MoTeC ECUs, there no other upgrade options required/available. The features and capabilities of the ECU are dictated by the firmware package purchased for the ECU. Some firmware packages have more advanced features than others.
-
A development licensed MoTeC M1 ECU allows a developer, who has written bespoke firmware using M1 Build, to install the firmware on that specific M1 ECU. The license does not include any pre-existing source code or developer time. If you not a developer experienced with M1 Build, but need a bespoke firmware solution, please contact before purchasing a development licensed M1 ECU so that options and costs can be discussed. A development licensed MoTeC M1 ECU will have zero functionality until a suitable firmware is written and loaded.

Like anything, the MoTeC M1 requires knowledge and experience to gain the best results. While we are happy to answer technical questions, purchase of this M1 ECU does not come with unlimited tuning support. We can quote tuning for your particular setup, refer you to someone in your area, or if you prefer to do it yourself (and lack the experience) then we can also quote training.

This MoTeC M1 ECU is for closed course competition vehicles only. It does not meet federal emissions requirements.
